First Official Weigh In June 8th 2010-One step closer!

Drum Roll PLEASE {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

As she steps on the scale!!! The previous weight of 274
Weight as of 6/8/10 269.5
Oh my gosh,,,I havent been in the 260's in over 2 and a half years!!! Whoooooo-Hoooooooo!!!! I am 1/2 lb shy of my first official goal weight. (I've decided to go with goal weights, not goal "dates". It's my way of eating the "elephant one bite at a time" with the knowledge that I am NOT going to feel defeated because I didnt hit a goal on a certain date. I DO KNOW however, that I WILL REACH EACH INDIVIDUAL GOAL WEIGHT IN MY OWN TIME,,IT MAY TAKE A LITTLE BIT, BUT I WILL REACH EACH GOAL WEIGHT.

I have a book that I am going to use to journal this adventure in numbers. It's called, "Personal Training and Workout Diary". (Sorry, but as I am writing this, my cat Cali is "mousing"...I never knew she was such a good mouser! She's relentless,,,she's fierce,,she's,,she's,,well you get the idea)

I got the book at Barnes and Nobles on one of the endcaps in the featured section up front, you know, where all of the books that on sale are. :) It was on sale for $5.98 and since I have a B&N card it was even cheaper! (hey 60 cents is the beginning of my goal trip to Hawaii!) The beginning of the book has some really informative and useful information, such as "Strength Training" tips, Cardio info, basic stretching techniques and Nutrition guides. Then it goes into indepth instruction on how to use the journal. You can see how I have chosen to use it below. There is a food diary/plan, an exercise diary/plan, then monthly summaries with a yearly assessment in the back.

I think the best part of it for me tho is the chart in the back. I am charting my weekly weight loss on that. And I get almost like a "just had a jamocha shake from Arby's" kinda feeling ,,,an instant gratification, elation kinda feeling when I see it go "up" in the lbs lost column. Whew,,,if I smoked I'd almost want a cigarette right now kinda thing.... :) .
The book has been helpful in a couple of other ways as well. During the first part of this lifestyle change, I was able to literally "SEE" what was going on when I would eat. There were a couple of instances that really made me stop and take notice..and it was mostly that after I had had what I was supposed to have for the day I would get angry about something, and I headed straight for the fridge. After the 2nd time of this happening, and me taking note of it, I was better able to catch myself in the act so to speak and talk myself out of it. The self talk was like, "ooooohhhh,,now see here you are at the fridge and your angry about lalala"...WAP!!!! just like a brick, (but a good one, one made of "gold") that would smack me upside the head and say, GOOD JOB-YOU DID IT-YOU'RE SEEING IT. Wow,,what a rush that was!!! Being in the moment and "seeing it"!
It has also saved me some money and got me a wonderful start on my Hawaii trip!!!. I'll bet you're asking, "what is she talking about, and what did she do"? Well, I am using the book as a planner, as opposed a "write down what you eat" book. I wanted to plan my days out so that I don't leave what I am eating to chance, to be mindful of what I am putting in my mouth, so I don't overspend at the grocery, can use my coupons, go on sale days, utilizing leftovers effectively,,,so you could say that I was "planning my work, and working my plan". I love sayings like that because they make you really think and say,,"oh yeahhhhhhh". Can you say LIGHT BULB moment!!!

And Hawaii,,,well, I live in the Pacific Northwest, where Safeway Grocery Stores are in the top 5 Grocers. Sooooo,,,when the cashier says, "you saved $17.56 today Miss Rosselli", I put that amount into my Goal Trip and saving the coupons and going on sale days is like a huge deposit into my "happiness jar"!!

Anyway, here are the rest of my measurements, and as I type them here, it will be the first time that I get to see the difference in the numbers.

This is awesome! I feel like I have made a huge stride, in just STARTING. All we need to do is just "start"...don't let it wait till tomorrow,,just start. I know this is a little different than I had first planned but my next weigh in is going to be on June 11th cos that's when I charted in my journal, and I really don't want to go thru with a white out stick and erase it all if you know what I mean. Then the next one will be June 18th and then it will stay with the consecutive calendar dates for every Friday to weigh. This will be interesting weighing in only 3 days later, but it will be good cos I'll be anxious by then! :)
So to end my day, I say to you,,ALA Ka Cali!!! (Think FoodNetwork when you say this) This means,,my cat Cali is going to be on "alert" all night long now till she finds her "playmate". Me getting any sleep tonight with her on the move,,, zero dollars,,,watching her just "be a cat",,,,Priceless!!!
Goals and rewards are coming up in the next blog,,and I have got some wonderful plans for my future, and the future of others! Big Hugs everyone!

I am watching the today show, which I watch every day, and they are having a summer shoe segment, and I am having these weird "cravings" while I look at them show off the gladiator sandal! Im seeing my feet,,,yesssss, MY feet in a pair of these,,or some of the espadrilles that you tie up your ankle!! Wow,,and I had always thought that I just really wasn't a "shoe" girl,,,LOL I guess I really AM! Will the "aha" moments ever stop???!!! I surely hope not!!! :)
